Our studied title “ Chromosome misalignment is associated with PLK! activity at cenexin-positive mitotic centrosomes” is now officially published. Check it out here. This project was led by the Hehnly lab’s graduate student Erica Colicino who now is at University of Michigan doing her postdoctoral work with Puck Ohi’s lab. Erin Curtis a postbac scholar in the Hehnly lab and now a graduate student at Duke designed the cover that was selected and made major contributions to the study.
CNY Zebrafish Conference 2019
Lindsay, Julie, Erin, Abrar, Nikhila, and Jessica all attended the CNY zebrafish conference this year at Syracuse University. Lindsay did a great job with her seminar that utilized an ontogenetic system with the small GTPase Rab11 and Julie presented on PLK1 in the zebrafish embryo during the poster session. Lab Dinner to Celebrate two Seniors Graduating, a summer fellowship, and two graduate students joining the lab!
Lots of awesome stuff happening in the Hehnly Lab! Michael and Julie are graduating from Syracuse University, Lindsay was awarded a summer fellowship to help support her thesis completion, Erin is going off to Graduate school in May at Duke, Nikhila is doing a rotation with us, and Abrar and Jessica have joined to do their graduate work! To celebrate we had a dinner! The menu included Steak Au Poivre, a fresh pasta dish (taken from the Herb Farm cookbook), a butter lettuce salad (also taken from the Herb Farm cookbook), bread, and chocolates and fresh fruit for desert all thanks to Mike Chang. Included below are some pictures. As always the youngest lab member, Bart Chang was present.
